As a Man Singeth

This is Christian and this is my first time blogging. I know- I feel sorta like I lost a little bit of my manhood for doing this, but Mandy asked me to put some music on the blog so here I go obeying the commands of my wife. Please don't make fun. I know all the other guys are wanting too as well. Consider this a revolution for all male bloggers. I was looking at some other blogs and saw what they had put up. It is interesting and I have often questioned why do you post the songs that you do. I once heard a saying that says "as a man thinketh so is he." I actually think it is found in Proverbs like 23:7 or something. Well I think that as man singeth so is he. So I added some songs to the blog and here is an explanation for why I added them.
1. Foo Fighters-- Times like These This is actually the first song that came to my head and I thought it fit the purposes of blogging.
2. The Killers--Mr. Brightside just a good upbeat song, and it is in the movie Holiday. We just watched it the other night and Mandy cried like 8 times.
3. The Fray--How to save a life Give 2 breaths and thirty chest compressions. I just finished and passed my CPR class with flying colors.
4. The Fray--Over my head One of my favorite bands and the CD my dad and I listened to over and over while we were driving across the country moving to Virginia. (It was the only one we had and we listened to when we could no longer get any radio stations). Every time I hear it I think of driving at 3 in the morning in West Virginia and wondering if I was getting in over my head by dragging my family all the way across the country to go to dental school. Good Times huh Dad?
5. Pearl Jam -- Yellow Ledbetter Again one of my favorite bands. Curtis hated it when I listened to it when we were roomies at UVSC. Chato this is one for you.
6. Billy Joel-- We didn't start the Fire. I am still trying to figure this one out let me know if you have any insight.
7. Rise Against -- Swing Life Away. This is a song I used to listen to all the time with Jeff Pack in undergrad at Weber State. I wish life were this easy sometimes.
8. Phantom of the Opera-- All I ask of You. Mandy and I really first hung out at an opera in the 7th grade. I don't know the name of it, but Mandy did go see Phantom of The Opera in San Francisco and made me watch the movie. I liked this song.
9. Yellow Card-- Only One. Great song. Mandy you are my only One
10. Kelly Clarkson-- Behind these Hazel Eyes. Kelly Clarkson is the best AI and my favorite. This is an awesome song and an even better rendition is found on vh1.com live music
11. Shrek Soundtrack-- You belong to me. This was Kayla's first favorite movie. We watched it a lot.
12. Mana --Se me olvido otra vez. I served my mission in Mexico and I loved this Spanish band. You should see Mandy and Me Latin dance to this song. In fact, the moment you listen to this you will want to take latin dance lessons.
13. Metallica --Hero of the Day. Metallica is my favorite rock band, and the only band I have seen in concert. Maclaine and I saw them the Summer before our Freshman Year. It was Incredible right MAB? Hero of the Day is my favorite Metallica Song especially this version. Enjoy
14. Niel Diamond -- Sweet Caroline. I love Neil Diamonds voice and who can withstand the captivating draw of his chest hair. I know Mandy can't resist mine. I also love the Boston Red Sox and the crowd sang this song during a game in the movie Fever Pitch
15. John Denver --Annie's Song. After listening to this song I thought Annie must have been something. I also loved that movie when some kids sucked in some helium and sang this song in perfect harmony. It made my knees buckle and brought a tear to my eye. If anyone can name that movie I'll treat you to a double cheeseburger from Mcdonald's dollar menu.
16. Michael Jackson-- Smooth Criminal. After hearing Annies Song, I thought of Annie are you okay? You may have as well so here you go.
17. Michael Jackson-- Beat It. Thriller was the very first album I ever got. My neighbors gave it to me for my 5th birthday. I am pretty sure I wore it out. I had to add the King of Pop to my list for sure. This is the first song from that album. Oh the memories.
Well there you have it, my first blog. I hoped you enjoyed it. I'll update more as I remember more songs. Amanda is getting annoyed that this is so long so until next time. Tah Tah

Well, I just had to leave a comment, because I did ask Christian pick out some songs for the blog. Christian if you read this is one thing I love about you. You have a great sense of humor. Just remember other people read this! (Like my Grandparents)

I love this blog post! Christian I think you totally succeeded and picked some great songs! I have to warn you though cuz as I read it out loud (laughing often) Gardiner was taking notes on all the things he wants to tease you about in the carpool tomorrow! Sorry! :)

Christian, I want you to know that Jared is the one who started our blog and every now and then he does a post - but he types it as if it was me (he refers to himself as Jared and everything in it). The songs are great - especially Metallica!

OK Dangy, when I first read that you were blogging I was not going to bring out the gay comments, but when I read that you think Kelly Clarkson is the best AI I couldn't resist. What has happened to my friend? Please with all the gayness. You need to go hunting or something to bring back the masculine and not the feminine side. At no point in your endless rambling did you make sense. We are all now a little more girly for having read your post.

Christian, this is Sara Sargent's little sister. Annie's song is one of my favorites as well- The movie where they suck helium and sing it is My Best Friend's Wedding. I hope you don't mind that I posted a comment, but that is one of my favorite parts of that movie!
